MBN announces Senior Appointments and looks at the data outlook for 2018

MBN Solutions delivers its best year financial performance ever and makes two new Senior Appointments to help drive the business forward in 2018.

Scotland’s MBN Solutions has a lot to celebrate as they start 2018.  Having successfully predicted the 2017 demand for skills and resource in the areas of data science, security and privacy, cloud, Blockchain and the Internet of Things, MBN put their deep sector knowledge to work and achieved a market leading financial performance in 2017.

Michael Young, chief executive of MBN Solutions said “Beating the budget and exceeding the forecast can be attributed to a number of key factors: our brilliant team and their knowledge of the data and technology market; our approach to account management and truly anticipating what our clients resourcing needs are; having the very best sector expertise in emerging technologies; and our ongoing programme of thought leadership events for clients and candidates alike”.

So… what does this mean for MBN’s 2018?

Young continued “Our growth over the last few years shows that a keenly executed strategy requires continuous investment in people and it is this investment in our future that has supported our success.  In 2018, we plan more of the same supported by two new senior appointments to support what we consider to be the key growth opportunities of 2018”.

MBN’s industry perspective is always closely followed by leading businesses and organisations whom themselves have built their growth plans on a platform of data, insight and emerging technologies. For 2018, this industry perspective indicates a growth of convergence between data science with other technologies. With machine learning being increasingly applied, artificial intelligence becoming smarter, the huge growth in IoT usage and the increased adoption of a cloud-first strategy for analytics, businesses will require even more talented individuals to help build their top teams.

Paul Forrest, Chairman of MBN Solutions stated “As machines become better at seeing, reading, and handling unstructured data in general, and as the accuracy of recognition increases, we should expect to see rapid progress in natural language processing, robotic process automation, autonomous vehicles, and the interpretation of unstructured data in general. These advances, coupled with the rise of Blockchain will present many challenges for organisations seeking to exploit them.”

Forrest continued “With the arrival of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May, I would not be surprised if 2018 is a year that requires the most careful navigation in terms of emerging technologies and data usage.  Such navigation will be the domain of the most expert people with deep knowledge of the art of the possible set in the context of what can be effectively risk managed and funding such people is our expertise”.

Scotland is at the forefront of many of these developments and use cases for these exciting emerging technologies but such issues will have a global impact and it is with this in mind that MBN have promoted Peter Docherty to the position of Managing Director of MBN Solutions.

CEO Young said “This promotion reflects Peter’s exceptional leadership and business management skills and is a result of our continued growth.  With my day to day focus extended to the growth of our related business ventures and MBN Group opportunities, I am pleased to be able to rely on Peter’s skills, determination and success to continue our growth story.”

In addition to Docherty’s appointment as the Managing Director of MBN Solutions, MBN have promoted Robin Huggins to Director of Academy & Client Services in recognition of the importance of the MBN Academy and its role in supporting the development of exceptionally high performing recruitment consultants.

Forrest stated “Rob is a key member of the MBN leadership team and it is his role leading our account management activities and the MBN Academy that have contributed greatly to our growth over the last few years.  Recognising the important role our people make is an important pillar of our employment proposition.  We will continue to offer our best performers the opportunity to take on leadership roles as we continue to grow”.

MBN is proud of its market position as a credible thought leader in the area of fast growing opportunities yielded by technologies and data science around Blockchain, Big Data, Robotic Process Automation and related Insight & Analytics.  However, it is even more proud of its Scottish heritage and global reach when it comes to helping agile fast moving businesses and candidates looking to work on the most exciting projects.

Both appointments became effective from the 1st January 2018.  For more details contact us here!
